À leur place - In Their Shoes:
Migration
in 360° Immersion

Belgian Red Cross

Understanding from the inside

Every day, people flee their country. War, persecution, insecurity… the reasons are multiple, complex, human. Yet too often, these realities remain abstract. The Belgian Red Cross asked us to design a powerful educational tool for teenagers — an experience able to make them feel what words alone sometimes fail to explain. Our answer: an immersive virtual reality experience.

A 360° immersion to shift perspectives

The viewer is placed inside a Red Cross reception center, alongside seven migrants — all from different backgrounds. Each shares their story, their reasons, their journey. Then comes a question. A real one. A question asked directly to the viewer. Not to test knowledge, but to spark reflection. To encourage taking a stance and opening discussion.

Explaining rights
without losing the human dimension

The second part of the experience places the testimonies within a clear legal framework: refugee status, the rights guaranteed by the Geneva Convention, and the role of the Red Cross. The goal? Emotion and understanding — together. First you feel, then you learn. One after the other, not one without the other.
