At Whooosh, we've always had a soft spot for foosball. It sits right in the middle of our studio — we introduce visitors to it, settle old scores on it, and sometimes even remake the world (or at least the internal rankings). It’s more than a piece of furniture: it’s part of our culture. So when we wanted to learn Arduino and electronics, we thought: might as well learn while having fun. And that’s how our smart foosball table was born.
We upgraded our trusty old Jupiter foosball table with an electronic brain:

Scores are displayed live, on screen, on the web, and soon on Times Square if we keep pushing things even further.
The foosball table became a perfect excuse to mix the physical world with a digital experience. You’ll find animated avatars, goal animations, victory scenes, and even tiny characters who fall asleep when nobody’s playing. It’s playful, it’s unnecessary (therefore essential), and above all, it shows what we’re capable of when we mix the real and the virtual just for fun.
This project is, above all, a story about connection. It brings together the team, visitors, clients and friends. It breaks the ice, sparks smiles, and creates moments that matter more than the score.
